Community Education Classes are being offered through the Scottsboro City Schools.  Below are the 2 classes for Spring 2010:

Sign Language Level I (American)

Scottsboro City Schools will be offering an American Sign Language Level I class to the community during the months of February and March. This class will cover the alphabet, numbers, people, places, and everyday vocabulary related to things such as emotions, foods, colors, etc. You will practice new techniques by signing to others in the class. By the end of the course you will be able to carry on simple conversations using sign language.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m., Collins Elementary School library.

 Tuesday, February 2^nd - Thursday, April 1^st. (Class will not meet March 15^th and 17^th.)

 Instructor is Rickey Clemons. He has taught sign language at the Alabama School for Deaf and Blind, Huntsville Regional Office. Cost is $20.

Boat Operator Certification

This class is required in order to obtain your license to operate any boat or watercraft in the state of Alabama. For ages 12 and older.

Tuesday, March 23^rd and Thursday, March 25^th, 6:00- 9:00 p.m. Collins Elementary School Conference Room. 

Instructor: Alabama Marine Police.

No fee.
