Bio
Hello my name is Amanda Bailey. I have taught in the public school system of Alabama for 32 years.
I began my teaching career in the Montgomery Public School System in
1988 where I taught sixth grade, third grade and second grade. I
remained with this school system for 10 years. I have presented numerous
workshops on teaching methods and ideas to enhance teaching. I also
taught observation lessons/workshops for new teachers, mentored new teachers and instructed/supervised student teachers for the school system. In 1998
I returned to my hometown to teach at Nelson Elementary where I taught for 10 years. I enjoy instructing students and working with student teachers and lab students that come to our system to learn and experience our profession. I work with the Scottsboro High School Marching Band as the color guard sponsor/instructor. I have been working with the band in voluntary positions for the last 12 or so years.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Huntingdon College in
Montgomery, Alabama in 1988. A Master of Elementary Education degree
with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University
in Montgomery. In 1998 I received AA Certification with a concentration in Reading from Alabama State
University in Montgomery.
I currently reside in Scottsboro. I currently teach
second grade at Caldwell Elementary. I have 32 years teaching experience, with 29 years experience teaching
second grade and continue to enjoy my career and the benefits of helping
others discover their potential. I have one son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons who reside in Tuscaloosa, Alabama - ROLL TIDE!!
