Experience

I completed my student teaching in Auburn 2001. I spent one semester with a first grade class and one semester with a fourth grade class. After graduation, I was hired to lead a summer reading program at DAR elementary school.  I was also hired with Scottsboro City Schools 2001 with a position as special education instructional assistant at Caldwell. I then taught first grade at Caldwell for a semester. I was hired in third grade for five years, first grade for two years, and now I am back in third grade.

Bio

I grew up in Fort Payne, Alabama.  My family moved to Scottsboro when I was in seventh grade where I attended and graduated from Scottsboro Schools.  I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics, Summa Cum Laude, in 2001.  My husband, Kevin Holder, and I married in May of 2001.  I then obtained my Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading from Alabama A&M University in 2004.  I completed my Educational Specialist Degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama in 2011.  We have two precious children, Kenneth Cade and Macy Ruth, who are actively involved in many sports and activities.  My hobbies include teaching gymnastics, running, riding horses/working cows on the farm, attending sports and dance events to watch my children and my precious nieces/nephew: Morgan, Clay, Alex, Paige, Addison, and Baylie.  I spent years actively involved as Secretary of Scottsboro Woman's League, Secretary of Jackson County Young Farmer's Federation, working with Sadye's Fund for Spreading Hope to assist children with cancer, and serving on Missions Committee at our church, First Baptist Church of Scottsboro.
