I am Jane Todorovich Hargrove. Although I was born in West Virginia, I grew up in Scottsboro, AL and was fortunate to go to Caldwell, Page (It was the Jr. High at the time.), the “New” Jr. High, and SHS. I graduated in 1980 and attended Northeast Alabama Jr. College (what it was called at that time) before going to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where I received a BS degree in Elementary Education and later my Masters of Arts degree. While at the University I was fortunate to be a GTA where I supervised student teachers and worked directly with professors in the Education Department.
In the mid 1980’s I began teaching for the Tuscaloosa City School system. I was also adjunct faculty for UA as a Clinical Master Teacher. In 1998, I returned to Scottsboro and began teaching at Nelson Elementary and now enjoy teaching first grade at Caldwell.
I have taught for 34 years. Most of that time in first grade. I have watched many students grow to become adults and have had their children. I mostly enjoy teaching the language arts – reading and writing.
I am married to Thomas Hargrove. We have two beautiful Dachshunds, Foster and Linus.
